As e-commerce and small businesses surge, so does the need for reliable, efficient delivery options. Aveed was conceived as a mobile app to connect users with nearby verified dispatch riders, aiming to improve the speed, security, and reliability of local package deliveries. This project tackled a familiar yet critical problem: creating a streamlined, trustworthy delivery service with end-to-end transparency between customers and dispatchers. My role was central to both the research and design phases, where I crafted intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and facilitated the user research that shaped Aveed’s core features.
The Challenge
With more startups and MSMEs relying on local deliveries, new challenges emerged around finding trusted delivery agents, maintaining package integrity, and reducing delivery delays. Customers needed a simple way to book and monitor deliveries with confidence in both the handler and the service.
The Goal
Our primary objective was to connect users to verified and top-rated delivery agents nearby, decreasing delivery times and improving security by tracking package condition pre- and post-delivery. Aveed aimed to create a delivery experience where users felt in control, assured of the quality, and engaged throughout the transaction.

Project Execution
Understanding the Market and User Pain Points
I began by conducting both primary and secondary research to pinpoint specific pain points and expectations from users. Through interviews with potential customers and surveys among existing users of similar services, I identified recurring issues like inconsistent delivery times, lack of communication with dispatch riders, and uncertainty about package safety.
Defining User Needs
Insights from research indicated users’ primary needs were:
Quick access to reliable, nearby dispatch riders.
Assurance that packages would arrive in the same condition they left.
Seamless communication with dispatchers for real-time updates.
Armed with this information, I sketched out initial wireframes and designed an intuitive user flow emphasizing ease of navigation and trust-building features.
Exploratory Ideas and Design Iterations
One early concept was a feature allowing users to photograph packages before handoff, creating a shared visual record accessible to both sender and rider. Additionally, I explored interactive status updates where users could see step-by-step progress—like pickup, in transit, and delivery—alongside real-time location tracking. These ideas became pivotal in Aveed’s goal of building transparency and trust.
Product Thinking and Design Decisions
User-Centric Interface Design
After mapping out the user journey, I focused on ensuring that every interaction felt intuitive. I implemented a clean, uncluttered design that prioritized essential actions, like scheduling a pickup or accessing rider profiles. By incorporating visual cues and a minimalistic color palette, I made sure users could instantly recognize important information like dispatch arrival time and estimated delivery.
Navigating Challenges and Making Strategic Choices
One design challenge arose around the potential overload of notifications and updates. While frequent updates were essential to build trust, I needed to balance this with user preference for simplicity. The solution was to incorporate customizable notification settings, allowing users to decide which types of updates they received.
Collaborative Brainstorming
Working closely with stakeholders, I fine-tuned the app’s flow and layout to ensure it resonated with both business objectives and user expectations. Team brainstorming sessions also helped us refine the design, introducing a verification feature that showcased each rider's profile, ratings, and previous delivery experiences.

Result Findings and Success Metrics
Meeting User Needs
During prototype testing, users appreciated Aveed’s transparency and control features. User interviews revealed that the clean, straightforward interface and end-to-end visibility made them feel more confident in using the app. Feedback highlighted the app’s simplicity, with users noting that they felt empowered to oversee their deliveries through the photo documentation feature.
Aligning with Business Goals
Aveed’s design was crafted to support its mission of creating a trusted local delivery network. By ensuring that riders were verified and maintaining user-friendly interactions, Aveed could build a loyal user base and facilitate rapid adoption among businesses. Though the product had yet to go live, early feedback showed promising alignment with business goals, particularly in enhancing the brand’s credibility and improving the perceived quality of service.
Success Metrics
Usability Scores: Aveed achieved high usability scores in prototype testing, with 90% of participants finding the app intuitive and aesthetically pleasing.
User Trust Indicators: Users reported increased trust due to the real-time tracking and rider verification features.
Positive Feedback on UI: 85% of users noted the app’s clean design contributed to an overall positive experience, enhancing brand appeal.
Key Learnings and Final Thoughts
Breakthroughs and Insights
One breakthrough moment was realizing the importance of empowering users to oversee their packages visually. This insight led to developing the pre-delivery and post-delivery photo documentation, which became a core feature of Aveed’s brand. Furthermore, the feedback loop from testing underscored the importance of balancing transparency with usability, which was essential in designing the app's notification system.
Reflecting on Setbacks and Future Directions
While Aveed’s design and initial testing were successful, some challenges arose around feature prioritization. For example, implementing additional customization for notifications was more complex than anticipated. Given more time, I would expand Aveed’s usability testing to explore additional features like integrating ratings or feedback mechanisms post-delivery to further enhance trust.
Future Vision for Aveed
Looking ahead, I envision Aveed evolving into a full logistics platform where users could schedule pickups and deliveries at scale, perhaps even incorporating AI to predict peak delivery times for faster service. Integrating additional layers, like insurance options and delivery history records, could also reinforce user confidence in the service.
Conclusion
My work on Aveed was an invaluable journey of designing for trust in the logistics field. The project sharpened my ability to empathize with user pain points, ideate unique solutions, and collaborate to bring a concept to life. By focusing on transparency, simplicity, and end-to-end control, Aveed positioned itself as a reliable and user-friendly option in local delivery. This project reinforced the importance of iterative testing and user feedback, solidifying my skills in crafting intuitive, user-focused solutions in the competitive field of digital product design.
